An American icon, The Bison, or Buffalo, as it more commonly referred, reaches up to 6 feet 6 inches, 10 feet long, and weighs up to 2500 pounds. Once roaming the grasslands of North America in massive herds, the Bison's head and forequarters are huge, and both sexes have short, curved horns, which they use in fighting for status within the herd and for defense.
