The original St. John’s Cross, found at Iona Abbey on the Isle of Iona, Scotland was carved in the 8th century. It was a center of Celtic Christianity renowned for its tranquility and natural beauty. The raised circles, or bosses, are thought to represent God with everything revolving around him. This wonderful pendant, originally carved in wax by Boulder, CO artist Jerry Gehringer, is detailed on both sides.
