In Norse mythology, Mjöllnir or Mjölner is the hammer of Thor, the Norse god known for thunder (and for whom Thursday was named). Distinctively shaped, the Thor’s hammer was considered one of the most fearsome weapons, used to slay any challengers. Though generally recognized and depicted as a hammer, Mjöllnir is sometimes referred to as an axe or club. While this piece has the traditional shape of a Thors' hammer, we took artistic liberty in adding the skull thus creating a truly unique piece not found anywhere else.
